Time for a name change, Grand Beemer is lame
The B'wanada
time to update
Came time to get the other front on, so I smashed up what was left of one of the turbine alloys, stuck it in the fire, and poured it into an empty body filler tub
This I machined to make a 22mm hub centric spacer to get the correct offset with the rs alloys
I then had to machine the calipers to clear
The next issue I had were on the rears, as the turned down bmw turbine alloys had no way to keep the wheels central, so I melted down some more crap and filled an old paint tin, then machined that down to fit in the bum wheel, and the ford wheel keeping everything square. One it longer than the other as the wheel was a little fubar where it had been filed out, and needed to catch somewhere round.
This is the difference in the rear off set, between the original turbine alloys and the spaced RS alloys
When I originally repaired the N/S rear arch, I was fitting an arch over an arch over an arch, probably over an arch, I then found when I put on a better boot lid, that the rear quarter had been thwacked, and was around an inch further back. Well now with a square base, it looks like the chassis must have been twisted as well, because with the correct size tyre on, the wheel sits here, where as the O/S is perfectly central
so out with the grinder again
This is still to be repaired...I'll add more pics when its done
Next up...well before above but my timeline pics are screwed up, I had to make the inner wing mounting support
Didn't come out to bad considering I accidentally ran the wing over and folded it in 2
